8 Preventive Measures Parents Can Take to Save their Child from Ringworm

important. Due to a weakened immune system, kids are highly susceptible to
infections and fungal infections of the skin make the situation worse. Ringworm
is a fungal infection which is caused by a fungus that thrives in warm, humid
weather environment, and results in an extremely itchy, red, ring-shaped rash.
While treatment for ringworm
in kids can be easily achieved by applying a top quality antifungal ointment, skin
fungal infection treatment cream, or even best cream for ringworm, it is extremely essential that parents take
some preventive measures to save their children from getting affected by the
condition. If by chance your child is or already has suffered from ringworm,
these preventive measures can save the condition from recurring.
1.
Kids love playing around in the garden. Ensure
your child properly washes his/her hands after hanging around in the garden.
Also, try to minimize their time in the mud to maximize the chances of
preventing any infection.
2.
As ringworm is a contagious skin fungal
infection, it can be easily transmitted to children from pets. Crusty bald patches
of skin is a sign that your pet is infected by ringworm. Immediately take your
pet to a veterinary doctor the moment you notice such patches. Doing so will
prevent your child from contracting the disease.

Make sure that the personal belongings like clothes,
socks, bedding, towels, etc. of every member of your family are properly washed
and dried.
4.
When a ringworm-infected person uses a
particular product, there’s high chance of that product being infected too. Throw
away all the personal belongings like hair brushes, clothes, etc. of any
previously infected family member.
5.
Keep a strict check that your child properly
takes a shower immediately after outdoor sports activities like cycling,
football, etc. Also, ensure they thoroughly dry themselves afterwards.
6.
Educate every member of your family about
ringworm. This will make everyone more cautious about how the infection spreads
and they too will take preventive measures to stop it from spreading.
7.
Kids are loved by everyone in the family. Tell
your family members that your child is suffering from ringworm. This will
ensure that they stay away from the child so that the infection doesn’t spread
to them and back to the child.
8.
Make sure all members of your family washes
their hands frequently, and keep themselves clean and dry at all times.
When every member of your family will practice good personal
hygiene, the child will also learn the same. This can automatically save
him/her from skin fungal infections.
Children should be playful, not infected by ringworm.
