Easy Acne Precautions in Daily Life

Acne is one of the most common skin infections that occurs in the form of white, pink or red bumps on the facial skin. In some cases, it even affects the back, chest or upper arms. Acne may be caused due to oily skin or fluctuations in hormones during the onset of puberty or pregnancy, and in some cases even due to stress and anxiety. Constant exposure to dirt, dust, and even tight-fitted clothing may also result in acne. While it can usually be treated with some care, such as the use of the best gel for acne and a good soap amongst other measures, it is best that the breakout is completely averted.
It is for this very reason that we have come up with a list of do’s and don’ts that will help you enjoy an acne-free skin! So, let’s get started.




Do’s

  • Use a mild soap to clean your skin, at least twice daily. If your daily routine includes a workout session, make sure to wash your face before and after your workout as well.
  • After cleansing your face, remember to moisturise it, preferably with a natural oil or an acne gel to help the skin stay soft and supple.
  • If you have an oily scalp or hair, make sure you shampoo as frequently as required. This will help the oil to stay away from your facial skin, especially your forehead, saving you from those uncalled for breakouts.
  • Make sure to wear sun-protection day in and day out. Overexposure to UV rays may result in sunburn, pigmentation and even breakouts. 
  • Drink as much water as you possibly can. Studies show men must drink at least 12-15 glasses of water, while women need 10-12 glasses of water on a daily basis.
Don’ts

  • Your skin has a natural process of shedding dead cells and regenerating new ones. Hence, make sure you don’t scrub or exfoliate it more than once a fortnight.
  • Don’t sleep with your makeup on.
  • Don’t use comedogenic makeup products. Make sure all the cosmetic products you use are oil-free and/or non-comedogenic.
  • Don’t squeeze or pick your pimples. It may lead to infections and even permanent scarring.
  • Don’t use tight headbands or hats for long periods of time, as they might result in accumulation of sweat and bacteria.
