Step By Step Advice For Pedicure At Home
Thanks to our fast-paced
lives, it often happens that we don’t find the time to visit the salon for our
beauty regimes. Even if we do, we’re so concentrated on our facial beauty that
our feet are usually left ignored. But not anymore. With this easy-to-follow
step by step method for a home pedicure, we can now revel in the pleasure of
having clean and happy feet at all time.
What you need?
Here is everything that you need to have by your side
to get those sparkling clean feet:
- A
tub of hot water
- Few
towels
- A
nail paint remover
- A
foot scrub
- Manicure
kit (nail cutter, nail filer, and nail buff)
- A
cuticle softener (optional)
- A
foot file
- A
moisturiser
- A
toes separator (optional)
- A
nail paint
Now that you have what you need. Let’s get started with
the process.
Step 1: Clean & Soak
Use your nail paint remover to remove old nail colour. Now, add some liquid soap or body wash
to the tub of hot water. Also, add a
pinch of salt and that of sugar. Dip your feet in this water and let them soak
for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 2: File
Now, take out one of your feet from the water, dab a
little with the towel and use the foot file to scrub the heels. Repeat the same
with the other foot.
Step 3: Scrub
Now, using a foot scrub of your choice, exfoliate the
skin gently. Don’t be too harsh, else you will risk getting some unwanted
rashes. If you don’t want to go for an artificial scrub, you can use ground
coffee for this purpose. Once you’re done scrubbing, dip your feet in the water
again.
Step 4: Shape
You can now cut and file your nails and give them the
desired shape. Make use of your manicure kit to perform this step efficiently. With
the help of a buff, smoothen each nail.
Step 5: Cuticles
Apply a drop of cuticle softener on the base of every toenail.
Let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Then, use a cuticle pusher to push back the
cuticles of each toe. Here, make sure that you use the curbed end of the
cuticle pusher against the base of the nails. Dip your feet again and remove
any leftover softener.
Step 6: Polish
Its now time to give your nails a finishing touch by
applying your favourite nail paint. You
may or may not use toe separators for this step. Once applied, wait for the
nail paint to dry off completely.
Step 7: Moisturise
Simply apply a good moisturiser
to help your skin stay hydrated for the next couple of hours.
While this is fairly easy to do, if you wish to enjoy
your pedicure even more you can also call
in for salon services at home and revel in a completely laid back foot care
